Build your LEGO Road with tramline

After some trial and error, I have found my version for road and tram track. With little space, I wanted to set up a tram that uses the same road area as the cars. The challenge is turns where the rails have a radius of 44 studs.

Road width of 20 studs

The solution was a road that is 20 studs wide and rails at the outer edge. So far, I have made three versions of the road system: Road of 20×16 and 20×32 studs, as well as turns that are 44×44 where the inner 24×24 has been removed to be able to mount the LEGO corner modular.

Lego’s plates mainly use the 8 studs times 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6. We have plates that are 8x, 16x, 24x, 32x and 48x. My thought is that I can use the 4-fold that also fits in the Lego world. By placing the roads around a block, the width will be 40 studs. If you thus place 8 studs plates on one side as a parking space, the road will occupy 1 1/2 base plate (48 studs).

Straight roads

The road is 20 studs wide with the tram line at the very edge. The length of the road depends on the rails which are 16 studs long.

Corner Road

Own designed plate that is 44×44 where the inner part (24×24 studs) has been removed. By placing a road plate 20×16 between two corner plates, you have room for two pieces. 32×32 base plates.
